The HTC Philippines Christmas Party

Last Wednesday (December 7, 2011) HTC Philippines celebrates their Christmas Party at Skype Roofdeck, W building in Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. The party started around 8pm with a welcome note by HTC Country Manager, Mr. Mark Sergio. Aside from Christmas party, HTC also launched three new HTC smart phones in Philippine Market. HTC EXPLORER™, HTC RHYME™ and HTC RADAR. Mr. Jack Tan, VP for Southeast Asia talks about of the three new HTC Phones. 

Also HTC invited three travel bloggers and gave brand new unit to test and share their HTC Phone experience. They’re Jerik de Guzman of Pinoy Boy Journals, given a HTC Explorer,  Christy Monastrial issued a HTC Rhyme and Patti Mallari  for HTC Radar. Christy and Patti are the authors of Lifes My Trip.com.

HTC Sensation XE and HTC Sensation XL Launching

Got an invitation for Ardent Communications for HTC product launching  in the Metro on November 11, 2011 at awesome Party House in Pasay City.

But before the launching I want to know more about this two HTC phones, So I did a research for this two HTC models.

The HTC Sensation is a smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC Corporation that runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread software stack. Officially announced by HTC on April 12, 2011, the HTC Sensation was launched by Vodafone in key European markets including the UK on May 19, 2011 and by T-Mobile in the United States on June 12, 2011 (marketed as the HTC Sensation 4G). It was the first official HTC phone to sport the HTC Sense 3.0 user interface. The Sensation was code named Pyramid during development.

Software
The device shipped with Android 2.3.3 and includes HTC Sense 3.0 UI.
The device is a part of a new generation of HTC phones that have a signed bootloader. As a consequence, the phones have not been rootable, thus denying users administrative rights to their own phones.The HTC Sensation was initially released with a locked bootloader. Since announcing on July 10, 2011, all HTC Sensation and Sensation 4G have had its bootloader unlocked due to the overwhelming customer feedback since the device's initial release.

On July 29, 2011, a tool named Revolutionary was released by AlphaRevX and unrevoked which can enable S-OFF, and subsequently, allow permanent root. Since August 2011 HTC officially allows to unlock HTC Sensation bootloaders at HTCdev.com website.

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio
On September 14, 2011, HTC released the Extreme Edition (XE) of the HTC Sensation in Europe under the name HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio. The Sensation XE provides the following performance improvements: Dual core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz (up from 1.2GHz on the stock Sensation), a 1730 mAh battery, and Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) OS with HTC Sense 3.0. The Sensation XE features Beats Audio support, and can be easily recognized from its red speaker, buttons, and rear camera, and the Beats logo. Located inside the box is also YourBeats earphones, a renamed and redesigned iBeats headphone.[13] While the HTC Sensation is often compared to the Samsung Galaxy S II, one of the competitors of the HTC Sensation XE is the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE.

On October 6, 2011, another special edition has been released with Beats Audio, called HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio (XL stands for extralarge). This version features a 1.5 GHz single-core processor—different from the original Sensation and Sensation XE, and has slightly different specifications, including a larger screen (4.7") although the resolution has been reduced. Two editions of the HTC Sensation XL are released, the only difference in which the limited edition is shipped with Beats Solo HD's while the normal edition is shipped with the in-ear earphones of those on the Sensation XE.

Nokia unveils first Windows phones

Nokia Corporation is moving forward to a windows phone platform.

The world’s largest cellphone maker Nokia unveiled its first phones using Microsoft software on Wednesday, hoping they will kick-start a rescue of its ailing smartphone business. The Finnish group, struggling to keep up with nimbler rivals in a hotly contested industry, unveiled the lumia 710 and lumia 800 in London and priced them at 270 and 420 euros respectively excluding taxes and subsidies. Crucially, the lumia 800 will include the full and free navigation service users crave. The phones will be available in European and other markets around the world by the end of this year and in the United States in early 2012 and into mainland China in the first half of 2012. Left in the dust by Apple and Google in the booming smartphone market, Nokia decided to ditch its aging Symbian platform in favour of Microsoft’s software in a risky deal in February that spooked investors. Nokia has not rushed with the new phones.

One giant leap for Nokia

Nimbler rivals HTC, Fujitsu and Samsung Electronics have beaten it with models using the latest Windows software, Mango. Nokia and Microsoft have said they will focus on close co-operation with operators to support the platform. “Operators really want to have another company on the scene: they don’t want Google and Apple to rule the mobile universe,” said Magnus Jern, chief executive of Barcelona-based mobile app development firm Golden Gekko, speaking ahead of the launch.

Nokia’s market value has halved since February as investors are unsure whether it can ever regain the market share it has lost. Its third-quarter results beat low expectations, sparking hopes that the company can survive a painful revamp, but smartphone sales still dropped 38 percent from a year ago. With Microsoft software, Nokia hopes to gain the kind of attention Apple and Google have attracted from software developers that enrich their devices. Research firm Strategy Analytics expects Microsoft to double its share of the Western European smartphone market during 2012 to 12.3 percent, helped by the Nokia partnership. The 12.3 percent forecast for Microsoft’s software refers to its use across several mobile phone makers and compares with the much higher market share Nokia’s Symbian platform alone previously enjoyed – it controlled 41 percent of the West European market as recently as the first half of 2010. The annual Nokia World media and industry event in London on Wednesday includes speakers from the world’s largest carriers: China Mobile, Vodafone, Orange and MTN.
